Wegovy Coupon: What Actually Lowers the Price in 2026

There is one real Wegovy coupon, and it comes from Novo Nordisk. It is called the Wegovy Savings Offer, and if you have commercial insurance that covers Wegovy, it can bring your copay down to as little as $25 a month. The number that gets left out of most write-ups is the cap: the card contributes a maximum of $100 per monthly fill. If your plan leaves you owing $380, the card pays $100 and you pay $280. Everything else marketed as a "Wegovy coupon code" is either the manufacturer's self-pay price under a different name, or it is not Wegovy at all.

Here is what each route actually costs, straight from Novo Nordisk's own published price guide and terms.

The Wegovy Savings Offer, and the $100 that most pages omit

Novo Nordisk's April 2026 price guide states the offer plainly for both the pen and the tablet: all doses, "pay as little as $25," subject to a maximum savings of $100 per month. A month is defined as one box of four pens, or one bottle of 30 tablets.

That structure means the card behaves very differently depending on your plan design:

Your plan has Wegovy on formulary with a $125 copay. The card covers $100, you pay $25. This is the advertised case.
Your plan has it on a specialty tier at $450. The card covers $100, you pay $350. Still worth having, but nothing like "$25 a month."
Your plan excludes weight-loss drugs entirely. The card does nothing, because there is no covered claim for it to reduce. This is the most common disappointment, and it is worth checking your formulary before you spend time enrolling. Enrollment is free, with no income test and no proof of need. Novo Nordisk directs patients to text SAVE to 83757 or complete the form on NovoCare.com. The price guide footnote also carries three words that matter more than the headline: "Government beneficiaries excluded." More on that below.

One ambiguity worth flagging rather than papering over: the treatment of Federal Employees Health Benefits plans, ACA exchange plans and state employee plans is exactly the kind of clause that gets revised between printings, and Novo's marketing pages and legal terms do not always word it identically. Self-pay: what Wegovy costs with no insurance involved

If you have no coverage, or coverage that excludes obesity medication, Novo Nordisk sells Wegovy directly through NovoCare Pharmacy at fixed cash prices. These are the numbers in the April 2026 price guide:

0.25 mg and 0.5 mg: $199 per month for the first two fills, new patients only, through December 31, 2026
0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1.7 mg, 2.4 mg standard price: $349 per month
Wegovy HD 7.2 mg: $399 per month

Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide)

1.5 mg: $149 per month
4 mg: $149 per month as a limited-time offer through August 31, 2026, then $199 per month
9 mg: $299 per month
25 mg: $299 per month

The introductory pen pricing is genuinely introductory. It applies to two monthly fills at the two lowest titration doses, and then the price becomes $349. Three practical details from NovoCare Pharmacy's own offer page. It is a home-delivery program with free shipping, not a coupon you present at CVS. Your prescriber has to send the script to NovoCare specifically rather than your usual pharmacy. And the money does not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum and cannot be submitted to your insurer for reimbursement, which is a real cost if you are close to meeting a deductible anyway. Eligibility is otherwise minimal: US resident, 18 or older, valid prescription.

The TrumpRx price is the same price

TrumpRx lists Wegovy pen at $199 for the first two monthly fills for new patients between November 17, 2025 and December 31, 2026, then $349 a month, with Wegovy HD 7.2 mg at $399. Those are the same figures as NovoCare's self-pay schedule, because they come from the same manufacturer agreement.

The listing is useful for one thing: it publishes an undiscounted out-of-pocket comparison figure of $1,349.02 for the pen. That is the closest thing to a public list price stated on a government-run page, and it is why the discount looks dramatic. Treat $349 as the real number and $1,349 as the number almost nobody pays.

Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE and VA: the card is off the table

Manufacturer copay cards cannot be used by people enrolled in federal health care programs. This is not Novo Nordisk being restrictive; offering a copay coupon to a federal beneficiary implicates the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, which is why every drug savings card in the US carries the same exclusion. The HHS Office of Inspector General has long taken the position that copay coupons induce purchases of federally reimbursable items.

What replaced it, at least temporarily, is the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge. Reporting and CMS materials describe a flat $50 monthly copayment, regardless of income, for Part D enrollees who meet prior authorization criteria. Covered products include Wegovy formulations, the Zepbound KwikPen and Foundayo. The program began July 1, 2026.

Two caveats. First, the end date has been reported inconsistently: KFF described the program as running through the end of 2026, while August 2026 coverage described it as extended through December 2027 after CMS postponed the broader BALANCE model. Confirm the current end date with CMS or your plan, not with any article. Second, the $50 does not count toward the Part D deductible or the annual out-of-pocket cap, and Low-Income Subsidy does not reduce it, so the lowest-income beneficiaries pay the same $50 as everyone else.

Wegovy is not in the Novo Nordisk Patient Assistance Program

This is the question people ask when the copay card falls short, and the answer is unambiguous. Novo Nordisk publishes the PAP available-products list as a PDF, and the version effective January 1, 2026 lists Ozempic (uninsured patients only for the 0.5 mg, 1 mg and 2 mg presentations), Xultophy, Fiasp, Novolin, NovoLog, NovoLog Mix 70/30, Tresiba, plus pen devices and needles.

Wegovy does not appear on it. Neither does Saxenda. Sites promising "free Wegovy through the Novo Nordisk PAP" are describing a program that does not include the drug. If you cannot afford $349, the honest options are the self-pay tablet at $149 to $299 depending on dose, a formulary exception or appeal through your plan, or a different medication. "Coupon codes" that are not Wegovy coupons

Search results for this term are full of promo codes like WEGOVY2026 offering a percentage off. Novo Nordisk does not issue percentage-off promo codes for Wegovy. When you follow one, it almost always lands on a telehealth subscription or a compounded semaglutide seller. Those are different products with different regulatory status, and the discount is on the seller's service, not on Wegovy.

The FDA and FBI have both warned about counterfeit semaglutide entering the US supply, including a documented case of a counterfeit pen containing insulin instead. Novo Nordisk's guidance is to use a state-licensed retail pharmacy and to be suspicious when packaging looks different from what you normally receive. Its position on compounding is blunt: mass compounding GLP-1s is not proven safe or effective at any price. A simple filter: if a site sells you semaglutide without a prescription, or advertises a price far below $149 a month, you are not looking at Wegovy.

Before you fill, in order

Check your formulary for Wegovy specifically, not "semaglutide." Coverage for Ozempic tells you nothing about coverage for Wegovy.
If it is covered, enroll in the Savings Offer and do the arithmetic: your copay minus $100.
If it is excluded or you are uninsured, compare that number against $349 self-pay for the pen, and ask your prescriber to route the script to NovoCare Pharmacy.
On Medicare, skip the card and ask about GLP-1 Bridge prior authorization.
Re-check in January. Every price here carries an expiry or a "subject to change without notice" clause.

FAQ

Can I use the Wegovy savings card and the self-pay price together? No. They are two separate paths. The savings card reduces a copay on an insurance claim; the NovoCare self-pay price applies when no claim is submitted. Novo's terms describe them as alternatives, and self-pay spending cannot be submitted to your insurer afterward.

Why did my pharmacy say the coupon only took off $100? Because that is the cap. "Pay as little as $25" is the outcome when your copay is $125 or less. Above that, the card contributes $100 and you pay the difference.

Is there a Wegovy coupon for Medicare patients? No manufacturer copay card is available to Medicare enrollees, for legal reasons that apply industry-wide. The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge $50 copay is the current substitute, and it requires prior authorization through your Part D or MA-PD plan.

Does a pharmacy discount card beat $349? Discount cards work off retail pricing, and retail for Wegovy sits far above the manufacturer's direct price. Get the actual quote at your pharmacy and compare it to $349 before assuming the card wins.

How long does the $199 introductory price last? Two monthly fills, at the 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg doses only, for patients new to the Savings Offer and NovoCare Pharmacy, through December 31, 2026.
